JFA Yachts, a Concarneau-based shipyard renowned for over 32 years for its expertise in yacht construction, is pleased to announce the creation of its new department: JFA Naval, dedicated to the market for aluminium or composite workboats. This initiative is part of JFA Yachts’ diversification strategy, aiming to meet the demand for technical and high-performance vessels.
JFA Yachts has recently equipped itself with a new workshop dedicated to composite material construction. Thanks to this new facility and the shipyard’s expertise, JFA Yachts has been able to strengthen its core business while expanding beyond aluminum vessels into the composite boat market.
Currently, under ideal production conditions, JFA Naval is building three composite vessels:
- A supply launch for the lighthouses of the Iroise Sea, 18.7 meters long (for the “Phares et Balises” authority) – designed by Delion.
- A 16-meter pilot boat – ORC 155 launch (for the Le Havre Pilots’ Station) – designed by Pantocarène.
- A 13.7-meter pilot boat for the port of Sète – designed by Delion. This vessel was started at Bernard shipyard and will be completed by JFA Naval.
These first projects reflect the expertise developed by JFA Naval in designing and building robust, innovative vessels tailored to the specific needs of maritime professionals.
Frédéric Jaouen, President, emphasizes: “JFA Naval embodies our ambition to transfer thirty-two years of yacht-building know-how into the professional vessel sector. We are addressing the technical challenges of maritime trades with the same high standards as for our yachts.”
As a reminder, since its founding in 1993, JFA Yachts has built custom yachts capable of navigating safely and comfortably even in the most demanding conditions. To date, around 35 builds and 40 refits—sailing or motor yachts, monohulls or multihulls, in aluminum or composite—are sailing the world bearing the JFA Yachts signature. Some have completed round-the-world voyages, explored Antarctica and the Arctic, or circumnavigated the Americas via the Northwest Passage and Cape Horn.
JFA Yachts has held the “Living Heritage Company” (EPV) label since 2016, a mark of excellence recognizing its outstanding craftsmanship and the expertise of its skilled artisans.
