An outstanding port ecosystem

Since January 1, 2017, the property of the Port of Concarneau has been transferred to the Brittany Regional Council. Since 2021, Carenco (Carénage Concarnois) is the operator in charge of running the infrastructures.

 

Our infrastructures

Boat lift

Inaugurated in 2018, the 400T capacity boat lift on a modern, environmentally friendly naval repair area is suitable for loading and offloading all types of vessels.

Lift

With a capacity of 2,000 tonnes, the lift is capable of hoisting ships up to 95 metres in length and can simultaneously put three or four ships of around 40 metres in length on shore.

    Self-propelled carriers

    Two self-propelled carriers can work in single or twin mode. Equipped with hydraulic bers, they can be easily adapted to the hulls of all types of vessels.

    • Variable centre distance depending on the size of the vessel: from 3m to 6.80m

    Drydock

    The Concarneau dry dock is a high-performance tool that complies with the most demanding environmental standards (classified as an ICPE – Installation Classée Protection de l’Environnement).

    Quays

    Specifications:

    • 440m of fitting-out quays
    • Draught from 5 to 11m

    Repair Naval Area

    The 22,000 m2 ship repair area, secure and at the forefront of environmental standards, offers direct access to the covered halls and shipyards.

    Concarneau

     

    An Industrial port in the heart of the city

    The proximity of the city and the port is one of the specificities of Concarneau. Industrial activity has continued to develop while adapting to urban and environmental constraints. Today, Concarneau has a safe and environmentally friendly port which is recognised as a competitive industrial centre serving shipowners. Shipbuilding and ship repair is a real driver of economic development and a factor of attractiveness for the town of Concarneau and the region. IPC promotes the development of this virtuous ecosystem and contributes to structuring projects for the port.
